Zenith 7000-1 Transoceanic Radio Repair

Here we have what is the last of the Zenith Transoceanic radios made. These radios are a great choice for repair for those who love the old style of turning the channel select knob and analog tuning. The sensitivity on these units is great and has a nice tone from the speaker in the unit. Here at Golden Radio Repair we receive a lot of Zenith Transoceanic Radio for repair. In the future, I will blog on some features of these radios.

Hi, I have a Transoceanic7000 that is in need of repair. It was a present from my Grandfather to me when I was a young boy so there is lots of sentimental value to it. I spent countless hours listening to broadcasts from all over and now I would like to have it repaired. Towards the end of it’s life I would need to softly rap it on it’s left side to bring back the audio which would fade away. It was put away for many years then one day out of curiosity I put batteries in it to try it out but to my dismay it would not wake up. I thought I would have it repaired and give it to my son. Can you give me some idea of what it would cost ? I can provide you with photos.

    Greetings,
I have a zenith 7000 that I would like to have repaired. It is chassis 500MDR70.
It is cosmetically beat up, and missing its back cover.
When I got it recently, AM worked, now only FM. Occasionally it receives a unpredictable power boost and works on all bands, and plays super strong. Then within a minute its back to only FM.
    Everything else functions.
What is your repair policy? If you can repair it should I send the guts only to save shipping?
Thank you, I plan to use this as a daily user since it is not collector grade.

I have a Zenith R 7000 which I purchased in 1970. I need to replace the drum frequency display, which just crumbled to pieces on me, while I was working on it. Do you have any replacement drum dials ??? How much do you charge for replacing it ?? What would be the cost of the part by itself ??? Thank you for your time.

    Hello James,
I sent an inquiry to you back in 3/19 about repairing my Transoceanic 7000 .
Are you still repairing them and do you take credit cards?
Also if I were to provide you with another non working one for parts, would there be a credit allowance?
    Thanks,
    Paul Schaffer
